Does Damian become Nightwing with Dick’s blessing?

I never read the comics and I'm a little hazy on how Damian became Nightwing. It's odd that he adopts the mantle of a hero who he had previously killed by accident. But I also heard that Dick came to Damian as Deadman and gifted him the Nightwing suit? I'm so confused on this. Can anyone clear it up?

IJ3 Batman Ending

So, a couple days ago, I posted about how IJ3's story arc could take place a good 5-8 years in the future, having Superman's ending canon, and it would take a Young Justice/Teen Titans route mixed with the Injustice Universe. I personally believe this is the best option NRS could take, but I am very aware that NRS probably would go for the Batman ending as Superman's evil ending is supposed to be the "alternate ending." I think an amazing story would be having Trigon as the main villain, he would be the final boss as a NPC like Kronika in MK11. Trigon's goal is to collect back his daughter, and warns Earth he will destroy it if the Justice League will not hand over Raven. Amanda Waller disagrees with the Justice League's decision of not handing over Raven, so she sends Task Force X in order to capture Raven and hand her to Trigon to save the Earth. Batman assembles a new team of heroes who are either lesser known or magic-based in order to deal with Trigon in case the Justice League gets turned into Trigon's servants. Throughout the story, Trigon starts building an army by taking control of Justice League members by turning them into demon emissaries. He also summons an undead Beast Boy to haunt Raven (like in the animated movie where Trigon summoned an undead Ra's Al Ghul to mess with Damian, this also gives an excuse to bring Beast Boy back from the dead since everyone wants him in the game). At the same time, the Legion of Doom forms to pursue their own evil ventures and take advantage of the turmoil surrounding them.

This would be a balanced roster with 17 returning characters from Injustice 1 and 2 combined and 9 new characters. The new characters are Circe, Ra's Al Ghul, Etrigan, Constantine, Azrael, King Shark/Killer Croc, Booster Gold, Captain Boomerang, and Beast Boy. This basically satisfies most of the characters people have been asking for a while except for Plastic Man and Static Shock who can be DLC.
