| [IJ2] Does anyone else think the way characters go down when they lose is really dumb? Posted: 12 Nov 2020 05:11 PM PST I know, I know, this is a really tiny nitpick, but it's always bugged me. There are tons of moves in the game for every character that knock the opponent down flat, and many of them are high-damage attacks or combo-enders. Add on to that the fact that every single supermove ends with a knockdown, and the fact that the game encourages you to end matches with your super, and you end up with having most matches you play end with a knockdown. Yet if you actually do finish the match with one of these moves, the opponent doesn't stay down. Instead they super quickly jump to their feet and then stumble into their "defeated" pose in a really janky, unrealistic way. How hard could it have been for this triple-A game with pretty damn good graphics and absolutely top-of-the-line facial animation to make it so that if you end a match with a knockdown, the opponent just... stays down? Combos starting with the same attack often have very different frame data. So when I'm looking at the startup frames for a combo, which attack am I actually looking at? [link] [comments] | ||
